Join us in crafting a new chapter of Cleveland's story by submitting your original design for our new city flag. Whether you're an artist, designer, or simply brimming with civic pride, this is your chance to make history!

Flag submissions will be accepted until July 19th, 2024.
SECOND AND THIRD PLACE WINNERS WILL RECEIVE A $1,000 CASH PRIZE.
THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A $3,000 CASH PRIZE.
DESIGN GUIDANCE

Incorporate at least two simple design elements representing Cleveland
Use a maximum of three colors (in addition to white, if applicable)
Emphasize permanent natural features of Cleveland such as Lake Erie, Cuyahoga River, Metroparks, etc. over man-made elements
Make sure it can be seen from afar by putting it in a small rectangular format
Aim for aesthetic appeal from all angles, both vertically and horizontally
Preference for a design with repeatable motifs (i.e., the stars on the Chicago city flag)
Keep the design simple enough that a child could draw it from memory
Avoid Cleveland sports color combinations (red, white, and blue is acceptable as it ties to the Ohio and/or US flags)
